KILBURN FESTIVAL AT THE TRICYCLE!

It’s the Chinese New Year and the emperor is throwing a party for all the animals with a big surprise for the first to arrive. All are invited, dragon, dog, tiger and pig to mention a few – it is a race to the palace. But who will take ‘rat-a-tat-tat’ the little rat – she doesn’t know the way! Will anyone be kind enough? Will anyone care or will they just leave her to stand and stare? 108 fabulous puppets tell this wonderful tale of friendship.

The X Factor Mystery

Things are not quite what they seem backstage of the popular TV programme, and some people are not happy – especially with the judges! When some of the contestants complain of feeling unwell, the mystery deepens. Have fun acting out the story and play the roles of the characters assisted by costumes and props. As each group acts out their scene, the plot and story unfold, as you turn detective to discover who the villain really is!

Green Bottles!

Create your own garden in a bottle, with the Tricycle’s Artist-in-Residence, Natalie Ryde who will show you her necklaces that live inside bottles. You will plant your own seeds in a bottle garden and then thread paper and recycled materials onto string to make your very own bottle garden mobile. Then place on your window sill and watch your seeds grow!

Bird Brains Hat Workshop

Make a hat good enough for a bird to live in! Looking at nests, feathers, trees and hedgerows, you will design and make a fabulous hat where birds would like to come and live. You can use card, recycled materials, wool and feathers to make your head THE address for the brightest birds.

A two-day performing arts workshop combining drama, dance and music. Whether you're a budding performer or simply want to try something new during your summer holidays, all experience welcomed. The workshop will culminate in a devised performance on Thursday at 3pm, to which family and friends are invited! Please wear comfortable clothing, suitable for moving around in (no jeans please!) and bring a packed lunch.

A team of specialists will work with young people to produce a musical, TIME BUSTERS in just one week! We will travel back in time in search of Chloe's Nan, where you will be confronted by dangerous snakes, swash buckling pirates, gun totting cowboys and smooth moving soul singers. Whatever next? But will we find Chloe's Nan? The results of the week will be presented in the Tricycle Theatre at 3pm on Friday 8th August.
Packed lunch required for this workshop.

Monday 11th – Wednesday 13th August

From writing lyrics and chords to recording the finished product, spend the day at the Tricycle with renowned local songwriter, Jonny Berliner who will inspire all budding singers to reach their potential in just one day. Each participant will receive a CD of the work created at a later date. Packed lunch required.
