    Young Artists Group Exhibition 2011

    Monday 16 May – Saturday 28 May
Celebration and prize giving Sunday 22 May 1-2pm

The Young Artists Group present their annual art show.

The Young Artists meet on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons for art classes in the Paintbox with the Tricycle Artist-in-Residence, Natalie Ryde. Group members are aged 9 – 19 and are artisticaly talented children who either live or attend school in Brent.

The exhibition is the result of group projects, investigating a variety of ideas and techniques, as well as individual art works stemming from personal research. Expect inventions, the Tricycle in minature, photographic portraits, plaster relief faces, drawings and paintings.

On Sunday 22 May we will celebrate the exhibition as part of the Tricycle’s 30th Birthday. Everyone is welcome to come along from 1 – 2pm to try out some printmaking with Natalie and the Young Artists and to watch the Prize Giving. Every year one Young Artist is selected to receive the Miriam Hyman Memorial Award.  Miriam, a talented artist herself, sadly died in the 7/7 attacks in 2005.  Her parents John and Mavis gave many of Miriam’s books and materials to the Young Artists Group and continue to encourage the Young Artists by donating a £50 prize.
