Mark Beldan’s paintings reconfigure scenes of crime or unexplained disappearences. Resolutely suburban spaces are reworked with nods towards Romanticicm and lush melodrama.

The helter-skelter opulent interior of Daniel Kelly’s piece reveals itself through paint on paper. Tearing, pushing, pulling, pinning and sticking creates a discussion between the materials, process and the images being presented.

Ben Washington creates hybrid landscapes that couple with the underlying systems that support them. Highlighting the elegant balancing act they preform, as they teeter on the edge of precarious survival and impending collapse.

Brought together in this exhibition, the works establish a topsy turvy order of things. A stately home is rendered on an ephemeral fragment of paper, while a utility room becomes an oil painting. A grain silo exists on a refrigerator part. Landscapes are dwarfed by interiors. The show explores the joy in foibles, misapprenhensions and inappropriate ideas. Stumbling around can lead to the most surprisng things.
