The Silent House (La Casa Muda)

Part of International Film Season 2012

Uruguay / 2011 / Spanish (with English subtitles) / 86 mins / Dir: Gustavo Hernández
    Language: Spanish (with English subtitles)
Cast: Florencia Colucci, Abel Tripaldi and Gustavo Alonso

    Inspired by real events…

Laura (Florencia Colucci) and her father (Abel Tripaldi) visit a friend’s remote house to do some renovation work. When loud noises start to resonate from the upper floor, Laura forces her father to investigate – only for him to return bloodied and close to death. Alone in a locked house with only a torch Laura must survive a night of terror with an unseen, horrifying threat.

Astonishingly shot in one take on a HD digital camera, The Silent House harks back to the best of the horror genre with thrilling suspense, nonstop tension and a remarkable twist.
