The Last Flight of Petr Ginz

Petr Ginz, a child prodigy from Prague, was a writer and artist whose imaginary works captured a world of adventure and exotic locations. By 14 he had written five novels and a diary about the Nazi occupation of Prague, and by 16 he had produced more than 170 drawings and paintings, as well as editing an underground magazine in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. Much of Petr’s story was unknown until the 2003 Columbia space shuttle tragedy, when Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon carried Petr’s drawing ‘Moon Landscape’ with him into space. Narrated by Petr’s sister Chava Pressburger and set to John Califra’s superb musical score, animation brings to life the work of this brilliant young artist.
