INFRARED HEARING SYSTEM
The Tricycle Theatre operates a Synthesiser one-channel infrared hearing system.
The headsets are for anybody who would like the sound on the stage amplified and are available from the Box Office before the show for a returnable cash deposit (minimum £10) or an item of ID (e.g. a Drivers Licence).
Each headset comes with a “quick start” guide explaining how to use the headset.
The infrared system covers the Stalls and the Royal Circle – the box office can show you on a seating plan the coverage area in greater detail. If at any time you are unsure about using the headsets or necklaces, please speak to an usher or member of the Box Office for instruction.
How it works
The system is infrared which means that the sound a patron should hear is transmitted wirelessly by an infrared signal (like your television remote control at home). The sensor on the headset then receives this signal. This sensor should point unobstructed towards the stage. The headsets should not be covered by any clothing, reading material etc as this will block the signal being received.
Infrared system in the cinema
The infrared system in the cinema works in Row E. Please book specifically for this row online or with the box office if you would like to use the infrared hearing system.
